Our servers are co-located in our own racks in a state of the art Data Center located in the prestigious Carrier Hotel located at 56 Marietta in downtown Atlanta GA.
Structure
- 12 floors of poured in place concrete with steel reinforcement
- Concrete deck roff with raised steel platform to accommodate an extensive supply of tenant generators, dry coolers and antennae
- 137 – 200 pounds per square foot of floor load
- 12-14 foot ceiling height
- 16 feet column spacing
- Five newly created risers, including three diverse telecommunications risers, one new electrical riser and one new emergency generator riser. For the ease of connectivity, 56 Marietta has pre-installed diverse vertical conduits with pullboxes on every floor.
Security and Disaster Protection
Fire Protection: Dry pipe pre-action system.
Security Features: 24/7 manned security station in building lobby; digital surveillance cameras with “man-trap” secured doors; exterior closed circuit TV on front entry and rear loading; card key access to exterior doors and elevators; no public access
Backup Power: Building currently has thirteen backup generators. 56 Marietta has 12,000 gallons of existing fuel storage. Backup power has not been nessecary in over 8 years.
Natural Disasters: Atlanta, GA is not prone to any natural disasters including hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc. and has mild weather year round.
Power
Building is engineered to provide all full floor tenants, including those in the Meet Me Room, with 100 watts per SF of power at 480 volts, 3 Phase, 4 wire and the “MMR” with 100 watts per SF of power at 208 volts, 3 Phase, 4 wire. Existing electrical services consist of three 2000 KVA, 480 volt transformers in the 480 volt GA Power Vault and two 500 KVA volt transformers in the 208 volt GA Power Vault. The 480 volt and 208 volt Vaults are fed from a “Network Distribution Grid” which is served by multiple and separate GA Power sub-stations providing superior redundancy and a very reliable source of power. The power distribution is Georgia Power's most reliable grid that also supports the hospitals in the downtown area.
Staffing
The datacenter is staffed 24/7/365 by experienced system administrators to monitor and maintain the data center infrastructure and equipment. Manual server restarts can be provided within minutes and hardware upgrades/installations can generally be completed within hours.
